Worms are the new heroes of our backyards, according to this year’s Hume enviro champ, John Haddad.
He’s going to ensure that as many people as possible get the message that worms are the real workers in our kitchen gardens.
Mr Haddad, of Greenvale, has strong links with the Iraqi and Turkish communities. He will be there to help people for whom English is a second language at a free “worm workshop” in Roxburgh Park on Wednesday, May 28.
The workshop, at the Homestead Community and Learning Centre from 1.30-3.30pm, will show people how to compost using free fertiliser produced in backyard worm farms.
