Lalor man on shooting charge

A Lalor man, 23, has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in the Melbourne CBD on April 13. Fouad Elfayegh is alleged to have shot a 26-year-old man who was found at the corner of Elizabeth and Latrobe streets about 3am with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Elfayegh appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday and was remanded to reappear in July.

‘Smartphones’ are stun guns

A 43-year-old Thomastown man was charged with importing prohibited weapons in an out-of-sessions court hearing late last week. His arrest followed police raids that found stun guns disguised as smartphones imported from China.
