Coburg held off a fast-finishing Northern Blues in their VFL clash at Preston City Oval.
The Blues were heavy favourites going into the match, but couldn’t match the intensity of the Lions, who were five goals up at the last break.
The Blues kicked four goals to one against the tiring Lions in the last quarter, but fell nine points short.
It was the Lions’ first win of the season.
