Gallery | Anzac Day: Craigieburn service attracts1500

Anzac Day dawn services at Maygar Barracks, Broadmeadows, and Epping RSL last Friday, were followed by a Craigieburn service at 10am.

More than 1500 people gathered around the war memorial stone in Craigieburn’s emergency services precinct to lay wreaths of remembrance.

What made this year’s event extra special for organiser Michael Casha was the decision to play both the New Zealand and Australian national anthems – the former in Maori and English.

“I looked around and saw people singing along,” Mr Casha said. “Young and old were there.”
