More than 1900 Gladstone Park residents now have access to the national broadband network after their connections were completed last Wednesday.
The rollout of the super-fast network will continue in the rest of the suburb, as well as surrounding suburbs including Tullamarine, Airport West, Essendon Fields, Gowanbrae and Keilor Park.
The network will progressively be made available to residents in these suburbs over the next 18 months.
Meanwhile, South Morang residents have just one month to switch to the NBN before the copper network is disconnected on May 23.
NBN Co is urging residents to sign up with a service provider as soon as possible, if they are yet to do so.
Spokesman Trent Williams said the move was not automatic. The company has established a register to support people who want medical alarm devices migrated to the new network. Call 1800 227 300.
Tullamarine is most likely the next cab off the rank to access NBN.
