Living legends and local heroes will come together for a day of community building and “landscape loving” at Woodlands Historic Park, Greenvale, this Sunday, from 11am-3.30pm.
The Live, Grow, Explore community day will be hosted by Landcare Australia, Hume council and energy company Jemena. There will be free entertainment, a barbecue and a chance to enter a big backyard of Australian bush.
There will also be face painting, pony rides and a live Aussie animal display alongside the resident kangaroos.
All ages can learn about home-grown sustainability, from smart-energy use and bushfire safety to growing native plants and a vegetable garden. For anyone with extra energy, there’ll be plenty of weeding to be done.
