Lalor: Truck, train collide at Childs Road crossing

Passengers have been helped off a train, after it collided with a truck at a level crossing in Lalor.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the incident took place at a level crossing on Childs Road at 1pm.

“Police assisted passengers off the train, no one was injured,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Metro confirmed on its website a train had hit a truck on the South Morang Line, with buses replacing trains between Keon Park and South Morang stations.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said a crew was called to Childs Road in Lalor to attend a truck crash at the railway crossing.

“No one was taken to hospital and the truck driver did not require any treatment,” she said.

VicRoads said that lanes have been closed at the Childs Road railway crossing and are urging drivers to take an alternative route.
