A photographic exhibition celebrating the golden days of Australia’s 20th century manufacturing history goes on show at Craigieburn next week.
A history in pictures: Wolfgang Sievers & Ford features works by Sievers, one of Australia’s pre-eminent photographers, who documented the people and environment of the Ford Broadmeadows production line.
The late Sievers is renowned for his deep understanding of the relationship between the arts and industry with his hallmark style featuring strong composition, unusual camera angles and dramatic lighting.
“These works celebrate an important chapter in the formation of our city and the significant contribution of our community to the car industry,” Hume mayor Casey Nunn said last week.
The exhibition is open from February 6 to March 30 at the Craigieburn Gallery at Hume Global Learning Centre, Craigieburn.
The gallery is open Mondays to Thursdays, 10am-8pm, Fridays ,10am-5pm; Saturdays, 10am-4pm; and Sundays 1pm-4pm.
A special opening event will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2pm-3.30pm at the gallery at 75-95 Central Park Avenue.
