Premier Cricket: Greenvale ready for big run chase

Greenvale faces a big chase on its home deck this Saturday after Hawthorn-Monash University posted 8-278 at the weekend.

Greenvale won the toss and sent HMU in, getting early joy when the Hawks fell to 2-35.

But Jake Marnie (80), David Alleyne (54) and Jye Sampson (43) pushed the score beyond 200 as HMU comfortably batted out its 90 overs.

Chris Marantelli (4-50) captured the prize scalps of all three HMU top-scorers, while Carl Sandri (2-91) was the only other multiple wicket-taker after bowling 31 overs.

Greenvale will chase the runs from 11am on Saturday.
