Bowls Victoria: Lalor, Glenroy stay strong with wins

Lalor and Glenroy consolidated their top-four standing in Saturday Pennant division 1 section 2 with wins on Saturday.

Lalor pushed into second on the ladder (53 points) with a 18-96 to 0-55 sweep of Melbourne-2. Glenroy is fourth (38 points) after a 16-90 to 2-79 win against Essendon-2.

Broadmeadows is four wins from four in division 2, section 2 after a 14-95 to 4-63 success against Glenroy-2. West Coburg (63 points) still leads the division from Broadmeadows (60), with Sunbury already well back on 47 in third.

Craigieburn is off the mark in division 2, section 3 with a 14-88 to 4-73 win against Fairfield.

Craigieburn (19 points) is up to ninth with Lalor-3 (six) in last place.

 

Whittlesea (63 points) has four wins from four after beating Darebin City 16-96 to 2-72. Whittlesea trails Hurstbridge (65) by just two points.
