FRIGHTFULLY GOOD FICTION

Before All Hallows Eve descends and witches come out to play, put on a ghoulish costume and take part in some spooky stories, games, songs and a craft activity at this all-ages Halloween twilight story-time. ALL THE FUN OF THE SHOW

Discover country life at the 154th Whittlesea Show via the vast array of activities on offer, including an animal nursery, show jumping, alpaca display, vintage machinery display and woodchopping. Runs Saturday and Sunday, November 2 and 3, from 9am-5pm at Whittlesea Showgrounds, corner of Yea and McPhees roads, Whittlesea. Cost: $15 adults; $5 for children (six-14).

Get free advice about starting a business, finance or marketing at this free small-business mentoring event. Businesses can book in for one of six confidential one-on-one mentoring sessions with senior small business mentors, facilitators and advisers from Business Enterprise Centre Australia. This program is subsidised by AusIndustry, in partnership with Whittlesea, Banyule and Manningham councils. Take part in Buy Nothing New Month at this mums’ and kids’ swap party. Mums can update their own wardrobe or find toys, books and clothes for children for free. Participants must bring along up to six unwanted items in good condition to swap for something else.
