VSDCA: Ingram’s 184 least Plenty Valley to monster total

Lorenzo Ingram unleashed an early contender for the knock of the summer as Plenty Valley posted a monster total against Preston in VSDCA north-south First XI on Saturday.

Ingram’s unbeaten 184 led Plenty Valley to 5-383, which it will defend at Preston City Oval this Saturday.

Ingram came to the wicket at 2-16 and added 101 for the third wicket with Sean Ayres (67).

Brad Mitchell (88no) then combined with Ingram for an unbroken 220-run partnership after coming together at 5-163, Ingram hitting 21 boundaries and five sixes and Mitchell clearing the fence three times.

In Second XI, it was much slower going as Plenty Valley restricted Preston to 9-124 off 80 overs. Ben Roughsedge (2-6) and Michael Croxford (2-18) were multiple wicket-takers.

In Third XI, Plenty Valley is 1-35 chasing Preston’s 159.

In east-west First XI, Roxburgh Park-Broadmeadows will need a strong bowling performance to defend 202 against Mt Waverley.

Things started well for RPB, with Syed Hussain (49) and Kurtley Brandt (20) batting well at the top of the order.

But then a regular fall of wickets had RPB back in the pavillion in just the 63rd over.

Jedidiah Kanagasabapathy was the main resistance in the lower order with 47.

Mt Waverley went defensive before stumps, reaching 1-23 at the close.

In Second XI, Roxburgh Park-Broadmeadows is 3-44 chasing Mt Waverley’s 117 all out. Ben Wood (3-23) and Kyle Newnham (3-20) did the damage with the ball for RPB.
