Premier Cricket: Greenvale Kangaroos win again

Greenvale Kangaroos are on a winning streak after a 24-run win against Northcote at Bill Lawry Oval on Saturday.

Daniel Salpietro (81) and James Lidgett (60) were top scorers for the second week in a row, while Rory Collins (46no) lifted Greenvale to 4-273 from its 50 overs.

Northcote reached 3-189, in reply before Ben Abbatangelo’s run out was followed without addition to the score by the wicket of Chris Dent (70).

Carl Sandri then got the next key breakthrough at 6-235, sparking a collapse of 5-14 that wrapped up the tail and left Northcote all out 249.

Sandri finishded with 5-36 as the outstanding Greenvale bowler.

 

The Kangaroos host Carlton at Greenvale Reserve in a one-dayer at 11am on Saturday.
