MALTA’S MEALS

This month has a special significance for Malta and its people as
the Great Siege and its historic victory over the Turks are celebrated.
To celebrate Maltese culture, Mill Park library will host a night of
traditional Maltese music, singing and presentations on Wednesday,
September 18, from 6.30pm-8.30pm, at 394 Plenty Road. Free.

TOP TUTORING

If your child is struggling with homework, inquire about help at
Craigieburn library. Tutoring is available for primary and secondary
students in most subjects. Homework help sessions run every Tuesday from

DANCING IN THE BLUE LIGHT

Hume Blue Light Disco is a non-profit event for grades 3-6 pupils.
It provides a safe place to meet other children and enjoy music. The
disco is co-ordinated with the local emergency services and led by
Craigieburn police. On Friday, September 13, at Craigieburn Primary
School hall, 87-91 Grand Boulevard, from 6.30pm. Entry is $7 a person.

SAFETY FIRST

It’s often hard to know how to talk to children about emotional
and physical safety without using fear as a basis. This workshop,
designed for carers and parents, will cover body signals, problem
solving and how to identify safety networks with young children. On
Wednesday, September 18, from 7pm-9pm, at 267 Settlement Road, Thomastown. Cost: $50 a person.

TAKE THE BATON

Join the Doreen Relay For Life to help raise funds for Cancer
Council Victoria to run research and prevention programs, and provide
support services. Teams of 10 or more take turns to keep a baton moving
around the Laurimar Reserve track, from 12.45pm on Saturday, September
14, to 10am on Sunday, September 15. Laurimar Reserve, Painted Hills
Road, Doreen. Cost: $20 a person.

CPR FOR INFANTS

Designed to provide skills to new parents and carers of babies,
this two-hour workshop will teach you how to perform the essential
life-saving technique of paediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
On Wednesday, September 18, from 7pm at Whittlesea council offices, 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang. Cost: $30 a person.
