A LALOR man has been arrested after a police raid allegedly found hazardous chemicals at an Airport West business.

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives, with the assistance of the Clandestine Laboratory Squad, executed the warrant on Monday.

A significant amount of chemicals were seized from the premises and the police called in the MFB as a precaution due to some of the barrels being damaged.

Detectives are conducting ongoing enquiries as to what the chemicals were being used for.

Lalor man Heiko Krueger was arrested on Monday, charged with the possession of a pre-cursor chemical.

The 61-year-old appeared before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was released on bail.

Investigators also seized a significant amount of chemicals a Dandenong South premises on August 7.

Skye man Andrew Hutton has been charged with 15 offences including the possession of a pre-cursor chemical, possession of substance for trafficking a drug of dependence, reckless conduct endangering life and reckless conduct endangering serious injury.

He appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was released on bail.

Both will reappear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 16 December.
