GET INTO THE SWING

Growling Frog golf course is hosting a special competitive golf day for seniors. Tee-off times are from 8-9.15am and the competition is for nine
holes, based on handicap scoring system. There are prizes on offer,
including first, second and third place. Lessons are provided for
newcomers and start at 10am sharp.  A special seniors’ lunch menu is available for $13 a person. Cost
$11 a person entry fee, plus cart hire of $20 for nine holes or $30 for

HELP CONQUER CANCER

A charity dinner is being held this Friday night to help support
the ‘Bike N Bean’ team raise money for the Peter Mac Ride to Conquer
Cancer. This fun night of entertainment includes comedian Ben Lomas,
Body Geometry and team stories from Stewart Morton, silent auctions and a
DJ to help dance the night away. It’s at the Plenty Ranges Arts and
Convention Centre, 35 Ferres Boulevard South Morang from 7pm-11pm. Cost
$65 a head.

RUGRATS READING

Do your little ones like to read? Take your children along to the
Craigieburn Library’s storytime to re-read a favourite or discover a new
book to share. Drop by for the entire time or even 10 minutes with your
blanket, pillow and a book to take part in a special storytime with

FREEZING THE BIG APPLE

In January 2011, professional photographer and Craigieburn
resident Melissa Hobbs travelled to New York City to capture the essence
of winter there, which became her latest exhibition, NYC -6° Cold Bite of the Big Apple. Alongside her large-format works, the triptych photos titled Cold Snap
are a series of smartphone shots. The works are on display at
Craigieburn Gallery until Sunday, September 8. 75-95 Central Park

JOBS FAIR

Hume City Council is hosting a one-day jobs fair at the new Hume
Global Learning Centre in Craigieburn. The fair will connect job seekers
and employers to fill vacancies in the Hume area, including the new
Craigieburn shopping centre. This is a great way to find out about
employment opportunities and meet potential employers. On Wednesday,
