As part of Playgroup Victoria’s Library Week, Thomastown Library is hosting a fun afternoon of sensory play and stories for preschool-aged children. The session includes storytelling, games, finger puppets, finger plays and play dough activities. All playgroups and preschoolers welcome.

Best thing since sliced bread

The annual Well Bread Festival returns in all its doughy splendour. You can bake and break bread with people of diverse cultures, and learn about the cultural importance of this simple food. You can also share your stories and sample bread from around the globe.

Singing their praises

The Choir of Hope and Inspiration, formerly the Choir of Hard Knocks, has been highly acclaimed for its hard work, talent and commitment since its inception in 2006, with a slew of honours including Logie and ARIA awards. Introduced to Australian audiences in the ABC documentary Choir of Hard Knocks, this musical ensemble will perform alongside school and community choirs.

To learn how to make your garden a paradise for native birds, butterflies and frogs, families are invited to attend this free session on which plants and flowers and whatever else is needed to make your patch highly attractive for native fauna. Robotic encounters

Join La Trobe University academic staff as they present a session on robotics, for adults and children. You’ll also get the chance to control and interact with real-life robots and have your questions on the future of robotics answered.
