Stargazing at the library

Barry Adcock is hoping to teach some young minds about the stars and the solar system with an astronomical lesson at Mill Park library this month.

A past president of the Astronomical Society of Victoria, Mr Adcock is a passionate amateur stargazer.

He said he enjoys the interesting questions he gets from children about life outside the Earth’s stratosphere.

“We take astronomy to the people,” he said.

The Astronomical Society of Victoria has about 800 members, made up of amateur astronomers, professionals and academics.

Mr Adcock will present an Exploring the Universe information session at the library on August 14 for Science Week.
