Safety first

Supported by Whittlesea City Council, the recently established Whittlesea Community Leadership Network gives  members access to resources, support and training to help build community and partnerships. As part of this initiative, Metropolitan Fire Brigade and Country Fire Authority will host a home fire safety workshop on Monday, July 22, at 6.30pm. Light supper provided. Work out the smart way

If you feel you waste time and need to manage it better in your business, this business organisation seminar is for you. The two-hour session will help identify distractions, work out how to remove them and how to effectively prioritise your time. You will also learn productivity strategies and tips on how to create more time in the work day. Ways to better health

Maxine Bennett is the author of How I Became a Human Guinea Pig: Health Tips for Busy People, which explores the myths about staying healthy and what works. She will run an hour-long session to discuss what she has tried and tested, including ‘‘do drugs do all that they promise or are there better ways?’’ She believes that one size may not fit all. Laurimar Primary School is hosting a book fair that promises fantastic second-hand reads at bargain prices for all ages. Bring bags or boxes to carry home your purchases. Cash payments only.
