Northern Hospital maternity clinic to offer support for indigenous mums

A new Koori maternity clinic will offer specialised support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in Melbourne’s north.

The Northern Hospital clinic will be officially launched on July 10 during National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week.

It will be backed by the hospital’s Aboriginal Support Unit.

Northern Health chief executive Janet Compton says it is important the local Aboriginal community knows support services are readily available.
