Dog gone dancing

Rio is no Fred Astaire but he does indulge in a bit of “doggie dancing”.

The poodle is a member of the Melbourne Canine Freestyle Club, and competes at the Dances With Dogs trials with Whittlesea owner Trish Wileman.

“He loves to jump, so we play Van Halen’s song Jump and he jumps when he hears the word.”

She says doggie dancing is gaining popularity.

The club’s next meeting is August 10 at 9.30am at the Calabria Club, Uniting Lane, Bulla.
