A MILL Park man has had his ute impounded after being clocked at a staggering 90km/h above the speed limit on wet roads in South Morang last night.
The 24-year-old was caught allegedly travelling at 170km/h in an 80km/h zone in Plenty Road near the intersection of McArthurs Road.
Senior Constable Marty Beveridge said the man’s Holden SS ute was impounded for 30 days after he was intercepted by police from the Diamond Creek Highway Patrol about 9pm.
The driver allegedly was over the blood alcohol limit and blew 0.58 per cent, he said.
“The man is expected to be charged on summons with a number of serious offences including conduct endangering life, drive at speed dangerous and exceed the prescribed concentration of alcohol.”
