A MAN has been arrested over the grassfire which threatened the Northern Hospital, homes and industries in Epping and surrounding areas yesterday.
Detectives
from Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit arrested a 48-year-old Geelong
man today over the fire and expect to charge him on summons over
alleged offences under CFA Act for “recklessly causing a bushfire”.
Police said the fire, which started about 2pm in Donnybrook Road, Kalkallo, burnt several hundred hectares of land.
