Youngsters at Bundoora Primary School will learn how to bounce back from life’s setbacks with the school’s new primary welfare officer. Alyssa O’Connell, a trained psychologist, will help students build resilience through the “bounce back” program, as well as look after their other welfare needs.
Principal Lee Pollard says having a welfare officer will build on the school’s past work of fostering good citizen attitudes in a school with some children with disabilities. Ms O’Connell will also help parents manage difficult behaviour at home and survey parents about their needs.
