THE Whittlesea Country Music Festival has taken a new twist with rock legend Ross Wilson from Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock signed as the headline act.
The 13th festival has undergone a makeover and instead of running for a weekend, will be held on February 9 as a single-day, free event.
Wilson will perform with the Peaceniks group, which includes members from Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, along with Eden Park country singer Brittany Pavlo and several other acts.
The festival, sponsored by the Whittlesea council and Whittlesea Bowls Club, includes a free street party in Church Street, Whittlesea from 10am to 4pm where country artists and local musicians perform a range of musical genres.
The Twilight with the Stars concert at AF Walker Reserve starts at 5pm with fireworks at 9pm.
Pavlo is a home-grown talent hailing from Eden Park who has just performed at country music singing events in Tamworth, NSW.
