‘Beerfoot’ bowling comes to Bundoora

First there was barefoot bowling, now a northern suburbs club has “beerfoot bowling”.

The Bundoora RSL Bowling Centre is taking its bid for fun-loving lawn bowlers so seriously it has trademarked the term.

Club manager Nick McIntyre says “beerfoot bowling” combines fun bowling with social drinking. “We are appealing to Christmas parties, corporate events and social functions; we recently had a group of La Trobe University students celebrating the end of exams.”

The club does have a serious side to it: it has 180 playing members and a men’s and a ladies’ Premier League side.
