Whittlesea has welcomed back Matt Dornauf for this year’s Northern Football League division 1 season.

Dornauf is a two-time premiership player at the Eagles and a past club senior best and fairest winner.

“Matt has had a few years away from the Nest, playing at Echuca and Essendon VFL,” the club said on social media.

“With a wealth of experience, Matt will be a great addition to our midfield in terms of skills and leadership.

“Welcome back Matt, we can’t wait to see you back in the blue and gold.”

The signing of Dornauf is one of several for the Eagles this off season.

Laurence Umali, another former premiership player, returns to the club after a few years off football.

Northern Knights young gun Aleksandr D’Arro joins the Eagles as well. He finished fourth in the Knights best and fairest last year and was awarded their most improved.

Thomas Flood will add some height in the ruck having played with several clubs including Macleod previously, while Luke Crowley returns to the club.

Wayne Van Der Ross will coach the side this year.
