Westmeadows has taken the front spot in the race for the finals spot in the Essendon District Football League division 1.
The Tigers entered the round in fourth spot percentage ahead of their opponent Rupertswood.
It was the Tigers who started the better of the two sides, leading by 10 points at the first break and then 21 points at half time.
It was two goals apiece in the third quarter, with the margin reduced to 16 points at the last break.
The Tigers continued to run in the last quarter and were able to come away with a 13.6 (84)-7.13 (55) win.
Omar Saad kicked five goals for the Tigers in the win.
Jake Hatton and Marwan Abdul-Wahad were named the Tigers best.
Wins against Craigieburn and Tullamarine in the final two rounds will be enough to secure a finals spot.
Roxburgh Park’s finals hopes are over after losing to Airport West. The Magpies were no match for the Eagles who won 19.14 (128)-6.8 (44).
Matthew Patane and Ryan Micallef kicked two goals each for the Magpies, while Jamie Elliott was named their best.
The Magpies now sit seventh on the ladder.
Tullamarine returned to the winners list against Craigieburn, but it wasn’t their most convincing performance.
The Demons led all day, but were never able to blow the margin out, winning 7.14 (56)-5.6 (36).
Matthew Jones and James Vistarini kicked two goals each for the Demons, while Michael Dalrymple was named their best.
For the Eagles, who lost their coach during the week, Billy Morrison was named their best.
In premier division, Greenvale was smashed by Strathmore, 22.15 (147)-3.7 (25).
In division 2, Jacana lost to Coburg Districts, 33.22 (220)-2.1 (13).
