Westmeadows returns to the winners list

Westmeadows got a vital win against Druids in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.

The Warriors won the toss and elected to bat, making 8-163 from their overs.

Clayton Campbell top scored with 34 not out.

Some late order hitting wasn’t enough for the Druids to get over the line, as it was bowled out for 146.

Chinthaka Jayasinghe and Aaron Evans took three wickets each for the Warriors.

The win is the Warriors third of the season, with the side sitting eighth.

Craigieburn lost to ladder leaders Aberfeldie.

Aberfeldie made 3-222 off its 40 overs, with Cam West top scoring with 100.

Zac Orr took all three wickets for the Eagles.

The Eagles’ run chase started off on the wrong foot, losing two early wickets Despite a middle order fightback, it wasn’t enough with the Eagles bowled out for 162.

Samuel Karamoshou top scored with 58.

In other matches, Keilor closed the gap on the top four with victory against the Doutta Stars.

After being sent in, the Blues put in a strong performance with the bat making 2-244 off their 40 overs.

Nathan Beever top scored with 94 after opening the batting.

The Stars never looked likely after losing four early wickets. The Blues bowlers kept the pressure on, bowling the Stars out for 132.

International all-rounder Miguel Cummins took 5-20 off his six overs.

The Blues now sit fifth.

St Albans beat Sunshine United with six overs remaining in their clash.

The Tigers, coming off their first win of the season, made 2-183 off their overs.

Thomas Duxson top scored with 55 not out.

St Albans got off to a flyer before losing two wickets in quick succession.

That mattered little as the runs kept flowing, with the side finishing 3-184.

Simon Lambert top scored with 79 not out.

The Saints sit in seventh spot, while Sunshine United remains ninth.

In other results, Yarraville Club beat Haig Fawkner.

In division 1, Deer Park continued on its winning ways against Altona Roosters.

Deer Park made 4-227 from its overs, with Angelo Emmanuel making 102.

The Roosters were bowled out for 121 in reply.

Deer Park sits a game clear on top.

Sunshine slipped outside the top four with a loss to Altona North.

Altona North made 152, bowled out with an over remaining.

Sunshine started well and at 0-69 were on top, before things started to go wrong.

The Crows lost 10-68 to be all out for 127.

Kaushal Lokuarachchi top scored with 54.

Patrick McArdle took 3-17 for Altona North.

In other results, Airport West St Christophers beat West Coburg, Seddon was too good for Tullamarine and St Francis de Sales beat PEGS.

In division 2, Sydenham-Hillside had a win against Greenvale Kangaroos, while Keilor Park lost to Royal Park-Brunswick, Newport-Digman beat Glenroy and Kingsville beat West Newport.

In division 3, Sunbury, Sunshine Heights, Footscray United, Pascoe Vale Hadfield and Grand United were the winners, while in division 4, Williamstown Colts, Gellibrand, Seabrook, Maribyrnong Park St Marys and Bellbridge got the points.

In division 5, Footscray Angliss, Jacana, East Coburg, Sanctuary Lakes, Melton South Royals and Roxburgh Park won.
