VTCA T20s continue

Grand United kept its unbeaten start to the Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 competition alive.

The Gorillas faced Newport-Digman in a catch up match on Tuesday night after the opening round had been postponed.

The Gorillas made 8-104 from their overs with Kyle Welsh top scoring with 35 and Leo Turnbull-Gent contributed a handy 28 down the order.

Josh Kingston and Shakille Elhouli took two wickets each.

The Bulls started well but everytime they got going they would lose wickets in clumps.

After being 4-74, the Bulls lost their last six wickets for 18 runs to be bowled out for 92.

Charlie O’Dea top scored with 30 before being run out.

The Gorillas join Deer Park with three wins to start the competition.

Keilor fell short against Oak Park St Francis in group A3.

The Saints made 7-157 from their overs with Richard Clarke top scoring with 60 at the top of the order.

Malith Cooray took 4-27 for the Blues.

The Blues started well at 1-66 before they lost a couple of wickets.

As the run rate increased the Blues hit out but were bowled out for 135 with one ball remaining.

Harry Warrick top scored with 42 for the Blues as they lost their last seven wickets for just 20 .

After three rounds the Saints, Westmeadows and Footscray United have two wins each while the other three teams sit on one win.

In group B1, East Keilor was too strong for Pascoe Vale Hadfield.

In group B3, Point Cook and Wyndham Vale both finished 8-105 off their 20 overs.

There are some catch up games scheduled for Tuesday with the next round being on 16 December.
