Under-17, under-19 state netball teams announced

Whittlesea’s Tara Watson has been named in the Victorian under-19 state team for next year’s National Netball Championships in April.

Initial squads for the under-19 and under-17 teams were revealed last month, with the squads cut to those who made the final teams which were announced on Monday.

City West Falcons’ Teal Hocking, Mikaela Minns, Charli Nicol and Christine Oguche have all been named in the under-19 team.

Darley star Grace Markovic has been named in the team pending fitness, while Whittlesea’s Tara Watson makes another state team.

Shae Clifford, Lily Graham, Charlotte Sexton, Ruby Shannon, Mia van Wyk and Olivia Wilkinson round out the team which will be coached by Wendy Jacobsen.

Tracey Brereton will again lead the under-17 team.

Mia Aitken, Sahara Ball, Tully Bethune, Harriet Gall, Charli Hoey, Piuti Laban, Mia Lavis, Eliza Molino, Georgie O’Brien, Mackenzie O’Dwyer, Leila Simpson and Teah Wilson make up the under-17 team.
