Super Smash grand finals set

Rivergum is through to the Diamond Valley Cricket Association Mash Shield summer smash competition.

The Kookas won through to the grand final on Tuesday night, beating Mernda in the semi final.

Rivergum, which has lost both its regular season matches against the Demons, made 5-131 from its overs.

Skipper Matt Perri continued his good form, making 64 for the Kookas.

It was single wicket takers for the Demons.

The Demons started well before they started to lose wickets which halted their momentum.

They fell short, making 5-114.

Alex Mitris top scored with 42. Jarrod Bannister and Prasanth Sundar Rajan took two wickets each for the Kookas as they used nine bowlers.

The Kookas will face Dennis in the grand final, after it beat South Morang.

Dennis made 6-129 from its overs. Jamie Bellman and Ricky Lee took two wickets each for the Lions.

At 2-77 the Lions were in a strong position before losing three quick wickets. They ultimately fell short, finishing 6-121.

Shawn Lindsay White top scored with 27.

Dennis won the pool match against the Kookas earlier in the tournament.

The North Eltham Wanderers were too strong for Bundoora United in the Barclay Shield semi finals.

The Bulldogs made 6-116 from their overs after being 0-81. Thilina Herath top scored with 49 at the top of the order, with Corey Cogan making 31.

The Wanderers took their time in the run chase, finishing 3-120 in the 19th over.

It was all single wicket takers for the Bulldogs.

The Wanderers will face Rosanna in the grand final after it easily accounted for Riverside.

In the Money Shield, Bundoora Park lost to Lower Plenty.

Lower Plenty batted first and made 2-150 from its overs.

The Thunderbolts got off to a slow start and were in trouble at 3-27. While they were able to find some late order runs, they fell short as they finished 6-135.

Lower Plenty will face Eltham in the grand final.

All three grand finals will be held on February 16 at Montmorency.
