St Monica’s College students will have the chance to learn from Western United players and undertake work experience at the club as part of a new partnership.

United will work with students from the Epping school’s Northern Football Academy.

According to the school, a highlight of the partnership will be student’s access to Alessandro Diamanti – a former Italian representative player and the reigning A-League Player of the Year.

St Monica’s principal Brian Hanley said the partnership was a major opportunity for the school’s football players.

“Football is such an important part of the sports program here at the college and the Northern Football Academy provides opportunities for elite football players to gain further experiences,” Mr Hanley said.

“To create this access with an A-league club provides our college with the opportunity to develop a strong partnership with Western United Football Club.

“We look forward to building this relationship for the benefit of our footballers and the broader college community.”

In addition to chances for football skills development, the partnership will include opportunities such as student work experience, interacting with business contact, and game day tickets and experiences for St Monica’s students.
