Reigning T20 champs make semi final

Bundoora Park is one step closer to defending its title in the Northern Region T20 competition, winning its qualifying final match against Banyule on Tuesday.

The reigning champions made 7-150 with an even batting performance.

In reply, Banyule finished its innings at 5-143.

Bundoora Park’s Thilina Herath and Rubal Singh-Dhillon took two wickets each, 2-16 and 2-23 respectively.

Lalor Stars also won their qualifying final against Lower Eltham.

Lower Eltham batted first, making 4-146.

For the Stars, Ricky Damiano took 2-27, while Paul Higgins and Mitchell Hayse took one wicket each.

Lalor secured the win 1-152 with one over remaining.

David Worthington was the standout at bat for Lalor, making 70 not out.

Laurimar lost against Riverside.

Riverside had a strong performance, finishing its overs with 3-170.

Nathan Woods, Luke Richardson and Scott Toull each took a wicket for the Power.

The Power fell short finishing 9-140.

Richardson top scored with 35.

Preston had an impressive win against Cameron to claim its spot in the semi finals.

The side restricted Cameron to 8-113.

With a dominant batting display, Preston hit the winning runs in the 10th over finishing 1-114.

Bundoora Park will face Riverside in one of the semi finals, while Lalor will face Preston in the other, both on Tuesday.
