Whittlesea Ranges have appointed Nichole Costantino as their women’s coach for the FV state league 5 north season.

Costantino has long been involved in soccer, including at the Ranges. Her father Alfredo Costantino has had a long coaching career, including previously coaching the Ranges men’s side.

This isn’t Costantino’s first stint at the Ranges and she’s also worked at South Melbourne, Northcote City, Clifton Hill and Football Victoria’s national teams.

She said she has a commitment to advancing women’s soccer.

“Football has been a central part of my life for over 15 years, both personally and professionally,” she said in the Ranges announcement. “I’m deeply passionate about the game, especially when it comes to advancing female football and creating more opportunities for women and girls to thrive in the sport.

“Over the years, I’ve gained valuable experience in coaching, performance analysis, and strength and conditioning, which I am excited to bring to Whittlesea Ranges.

“My journey with Whittlesea Ranges began as the strength and conditioning coach and assistant coach for the senior men’s NPL [National Premier League] 3 team, where I also stepped in as head coach for two matches, strengthening my leadership and team management skills.

“This experience shaped my coaching philosophy and highlighted the importance of fostering a strong team culture.”

Costantino said she has always believed that creating the right team culture is the foundation for success.

“It’s not just about developing strong athletes but also about fostering an environment where players feel empowered, motivated, and united,” she said.

“For me, this is especially important in female football.

“Women’s football has come so far in recent years, but there’s still so much potential for growth. It’s about creating pathways for players to progress, building confidence, and showing young girls that there’s a place for them at every level of the game.

“Being part of the Whittlesea Ranges journey now is incredibly exciting.Together, we can build something truly special for the future of the game.”
