Sunbury Lions young gun Madison Prespakis was the runaway winner of the Calder Cannons’ Girl’s best and fairest award.
Prespakis, who was captain of the Cannons this season, was the hot favourite going into the awards on Friday.
Prespakis polled 113 of 120 possible votes to claim the Meg McArthur Medal, finishing 58 votes clear of second-placed Georgia Patrikios, who finished on 55 votes.
Carla Rendelmann finished third in the medal with 33 votes.
Prespaskis’ win comes after she finished runner-up in the medal last year, behind now Collingwood star Chloe Molloy.
The best and fairest award is the latest of achievements for Prespakis, who is expected to go high in this year’s AFLW draft.
She recently made her senior debut, playing for Melbourne Uni in the VFLW and didn’t look out of place.
Currently she’s captain of the Vic Metro under-18 team which is competing at the NAB AFL Women’s Under-18 Championships.
Prespakis was one of Vic Metro’s best in their round one win against Vic Country, kicking two goals.
Prespakis has been a regular in that team for a number of years and claimed Vic Metro’s most valuable player award last year.
In other awards at the Cannons’ best and fairest, Eliza Vale won the Alicia Eva award for coaches and Zoe Hardiman was the most improved player.
