Plenty finds a way to win

Plenty Valley has finally tasted victory in the Women’s Premier Cricket season.

After losing the first eight rounds, the Bats comprehensively beat Dandenong in a T20 clash on Sunday.

Fielding their strongest line-up so far this season, the Bats’ had three players who will play for the Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash League.

Skipper Kirsty Lamb and English international Danni Wyatt were joined by ACT Meteors captain Kris Britt, who was playing a one-off game for the club.

Wyatt proved to be the star of the game with both the bat and then ball.

After being sent into bat, Plenty Valley lost young gun Sophie Van De Heuvel cheaply.

Wyatt was joined at the crease by Britt and they put on 58 for the second wicket partnership.

Lamb and Lyndall Daley joined the party when Britt was out for 31 and then Wyatt was out for 48.

The Bats finished their overs at 4-130, with Lamb run out looking to add late runs.

Dandenong started on fire, and were quickly 0-15 in the second over.

Enter Wyatt, who took two wickets for the over and started the Dandenong collapse.

Dandenong were all out for 48, with Wyatt and Britt the best of the bowlers with two wickets each.
