Victorian Football League fans are in for a treat with the six Victorian standalone clubs to compete in a practice match carnival.
The carnival on March 4 will be played at Highgate Recreation Reserve, Craigieburn with three matches starting from 10.45am.
Williamstown will face the Northern Bullants in the first match of the day, followed by Frankston and Werribee with the match between Coburg and Port Melbourne to finish the day.
Entry will be free with football fans from across the state encouraged to get along for a huge day of football.
Spectators will be able to purchase club memberships and merchandise on the day, while food and beverage offerings will also be available.
The matches will be broadcast live on Cluch TV.
AFL state league competitions head Jennie Loughnan said they were thrilled to support the six Victorian-based standalone clubs in what will be an action-packed day.
“We commend the initiative and collaboration demonstrated by all six clubs to put the day together and encourage all football fans to head along for the triple-header, as the six Victorian-based standalone clubs ramp up their preparations for round one,’ she said.
The matches are ahead of the VFL season which starts on the weekend of March 24.
