Power unveils coaching line up

Laurimar has boosted its coaching ranks following a successful season in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association.

Having claimed the Mash Shield premiership, the side will next season play in the Money Shield.

Adam Drinkwell has been reappointed coach after taking the club to three premierships in his first years as coach.

Andy Cook has been appointed senior assistant coach for the high grades.

“Andy brings a wealth of high performance experience to the role through his coaching and playing experience at first class level both in Australia and England,” the club said.

“Andy represented South Australia at first class level and also spent three years at the AIS Cricket Academy when he was younger.

“He spent over seven years playing County cricket for Lancashire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and played a pivotal role in establishing the Northamptonshire Academy. Andy’s extensive knowledge and experience at such a high level will be invaluable to the playing group moving forward.

“Andy will also play a major part in working with our new emerging talent program.”

Aaron Bailey has been appointed as a senior operations lead, Mathew Hewat has been appointed emerging talent program head coach.

Hewat, who was at the club last season, will lead the new program this year.

Drinkwell said he was looking forward to the new season with optimism.

“We had a terrific season last year and our coaching group did a really good job in preparing the group each week,” he said.

“We are looking to take our professionalism to new levels this coming season and to have the experience we have within this structure will be extremely beneficial for the playing group.”
