NRL Victoria Female Footy Festival will light up Seabrook Reserve in Broadmeadows on Sunday.
After the success of the first festival last year, the festival is back bigger and better this year.
The event will feature more than 50 games across various formats including tackle and tag.
It’s expected that 1500 people will attend the day.
Storm female pathways manager Pauline Poloai said it’s such an amazing opportunity to be able to run the festival for a second year.
“With the success and participation growth we are excited for this weekend to have all the girls in the one location again,” she said.
“The inaugural female football festival focused on being an intro into the female space in all age groups from juniors through to seniors.
“This one is about what the future looks like for female rugby in Victoria.”
Poloai said there had been a lot of growth in rugby and female sport more widely in the Broadmeadows and wider region which made it the perfect location to hold the event.
The festival gaps off a big year from the Storm’s female program which is focused on having an NRL team in the future.
“Sometimes it’s a pinch yourself moment,” she said. “You don’t realise how far the female game has come unless you are part of it.
“Female sports have grown and it’s helped give confidence for women to get into sport.
“There is that pathway they can take and it’s full steam ahead. Those there this weekend can look at the festival and see the genuine pathway.”
