Craigieburn’s first round in the Cricket Victoria Women’s Community Cricket north west A one-day competition on the weekend came to a premature end.
There were rain delays throughout the match against Melton Centrals on Sunday in the season opener, which was abandoned.
Craigieburn made 3-65 in a shortened innings.
Centrals’ innings were cut short, and they were 0-24 when the match was abandoned
The teams shared the points.
Craigieburn will play an away game against Clifton Hill this weekend.
Greenvale Kangaroos did not fare well in the first round of the Shield one-day competition, losing to Mt Martha.
The Kangaroos made 1-106, with Rebecca Lines making 45 not out.
Mt Martha put in a good performance with the bat, making 0-108 with nearly seven overs to spare.
The Kangaroos will face Frankston in round two on Sunday.
