Roxburgh Park bounced back from heartbreak to knock off Tullamarine in the Essendon District Football League division 1 competition.
After losing after the siren the week before, the Magpies got their third win of the season on Saturday against the Demons.
The Magpies led at quarter time, before the Demons kicked four goals to one to take a 10 point lead into the main break.
The margin was increased to 12 points at the final break.
The Magpies kicked six goals in the final quarter to overtake the Demons for a 13.6 (84)-11.8 (74) win.
Cooper McPharlane and Teronne Potter kicked three goals each for the Magpies.
Jack Elliott was named the Magpies best.
For the Demons, Joquin Bugeja and James Vistarini kicked two goals each. Jake Long and Michael Sikora were named their best.
The win moves the Magpies to seventh a game outside the top five, but they have a game in hand.
The Demons slip to eighth spot, a game behind the Magpies.
Craigieburn remains in fifth spot despite a second straight loss, this time to West Coburg.
The second quarter would be the difference in the game, with the Burgers kicking eight goals to one to open up a 49 point lead.
The Burgers managed to extend the lead in the second half to get a 19.18 (132)-10.13 (73) win.
Harry Albon kicked four goals for the Eagles and was named their best.
In premier division, Greenvale suffered a straight loss, losing to Pascoe Vale.
The Panthers jumped out of the blocks in the first quarter to lead by 32 points, before the Jets reduced the margin to 13 points at half time.
The margin was increased to 25 points at the last break. There would be no comeback from the Jets, with the Panthers finishing, 12.14 (86)-8.8 (56).
Josh Porter kicked four goals for the Jets and was named their best.
The Jets remain in fifth spot despite the loss.
In division 2, Westmeadows had a big loss to Taylors Lakes, losing 19.15 (129)-4.5 (29).
In the women’s competition, Westmeadows remain undefeated in premier division, Greenvale and Tullamarine had wins in division 1, while Roxburgh Park upset the Sunbury Lions in division 2.
