Magpies and NFNL announce partnership

The Collingwood Magpies and the Northern Football Netball League have announced a new community partnership.

The two organisations will work together to provide greater opportunities for community-level netball participants in the northern region, and deliver programs and mentoring to ensure industry-developed skills are maintained within the sport at all levels.

Collingwood’s stadia and community general manager David Emerson said the partnership provides a great opportunity for athletes to connect with the community.

“Collingwood is thrilled to announce its new partnership with the [NFNL],” Emerson said.

“The partnership provides a great opportunity for our players to come together with the community through a shared passion and love for the game of netball.

“Due to the lack of physical interaction during the pandemic, the partnership comes at an exciting time when our players and the community can again come together face-to-face.

“By providing NFNL participants with access to our athletes, we hope it will not only help young netballers develop their skills on court, but that they will also be able to gain a greater understanding of what an elite sporting environment looks like.

“We look forward to collaborating with the NFNL to continue to grow netball in the Northern region in 2022 and beyond.”

As part of the partnership, Collingwood netballers will play a key role in helping develop the skills of young netballers by assisting in NetSetGo clinics and other netball holiday programs within the region.
