It was a tough weekend for Westmeadows and Craigeburn in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.
The two teams started day two of their clashes with Yarraville Club and Sunshine United behind the eight ball after day one respectively.
The Warriors suffered an outright loss to the Clubbers.
After being bowled out for 125 on day one, the Warriors needed early wickets with the Clubbers resuming at 3.55.
The Clubbers got the runs and declared at 9-176, giving them a lead of 51.
Chinthaka Jayasinghe top scored with 84 against his old side. Pathum De Mel took six wickets for the Warriors.
With only a small lead, the Clubbers dangled the carrot in front of the Warriors to take the match on and fight for a reverse outright result.
With the side sitting on the bottom of the ladder they did exactly that.
The Warriors were bowled out for just 122, leaving the Clubbers needing 71 off 21 overs.
Thilina Masmulla top scored for the Warriors with 37.
The Clubbers got the runs in 13.2 overs, finishing 2-72.
A second straight loss has resulted in Craigieburn slipping out of the top four. On Saturday, the Eagles lost to Sunshine United.
The Eagles made 184 on day one of the clash with Sammy Laffan making 70.
The Tigers made the runs with more than five overs remaining, finishing 4-186.
It was all single wicket takers for the Eagles.
The loss leaves the Eagles in sixth spot, four points and percentage outside the top four.
The tough run continued for Tullamarine which lost to West Coburg outright.
The Demons were bowled out for just 41 in 16 overs.
West Coburg passed that one wicket down and finished day one at 6-183.
West Coburg declared heading into day two, to set up the possibility of an outright win.
The Demons were bowled out for 149 in their second innings.
Danny Law top scored with 37.
West Coburg needed just two balls to get the winning runs, finishing 0-10.
In division 2, Greenvale Kangaroos suffered a loss to Royal Park-Brunswick. The Kangaroos were bowled out for 91 in reply to Royal Park’s 217.
Matthew Kent top scored with 40.
The Kangaroos were sent back in and were 5-76 at stumps.
In division 4, Roxburgh Park avoided an outright defeat against Maribyrnong Park St Marys.
The Falcons made 151 on day one of the match with Maribyrnong Park making 8-229 in reply.
The Falcons were 9-155 in reply.
The Falcons sit in sixth spot, a game outside the top four.
In division 5, Donnybrook lost to East Coburg and Jacana beat Burnside Springs.
