Losses for Hume City, Whittlesea Ranges

It was a tough weekend for Hume City and Whittlesea Ranges in the National Premier League.

On Saturday night, St Albans Saints travelled to Valley Park in Broadmeadows to take on Hume City, where they were able to come away with a 2-1 win to make it back-to-back wins.

The Saints got up 2-0 through Zander Guy and Ivan Razumic before Josh Bingham scored a penalty to get one goal back.

The win put the Saints in 6th position on the ladder ahead of neighbouring clubs Knight (seventh) and Caviliers (eitghth).

Hume City remains on the bottom in 14th, two points behind Easter Lions as coach Nick Hegarty announced he will no longer coach the club following the sixth-straight defeat on Saturday night.

In other NPL matches, Green Gully took home a 2-1 win over Melbourne Knights.

Nahuel Bonada opened the scoring for the Cavaliers before the lead was extended through Luke Adams.

The Knights scored one goal back in the two minutes after the second goal through Lionel Masudi coming off the bench and finding the back-net in the 89th minute.

In NPL 3, North Sunshine came away with a strong 2-0 win over Whittlesea Ranges on the road, making it two wins in a row for the Eagles.

In NPL 2, Western United went down 2-1 on Friday night against Box Hill United playing away from home.

In the NPL women’s division, Calder United picked up its first win of the season in their second game of the season, defeating Football Victoria Emerging 4-0.
