Lalor Stars through to semi finals

Lalor Stars good T20 form has continued with the side through to the Northern Region T20 semi finals.

The Stars faced Riverside in their qualifying final on Tuesday night and were able to come away with a comfortable win.

Riverside batted first after winning the toss, making 7-145 from their overs. Sean Money top scored with 45.

Jamie Scott took two wickets for the Stars.

Lalor Stars got off to a good start with the bat, with 52 for the first partnership. They were able to keep the momentum going throughout the innings.

The Stars made the runs with eight balls remaining, finishing 3-147.

Alex Manoilovski top scored with 45 at the top of the order.

The Stars will face Eltham in the semi final, after Eltham beat Old Paradians in their qualifying final.

It was a low scoring final, with Eltham’s bowlers getting the job done.

Eltham made 7-108 from its overs, with Darren Hodge taking three wickets for the Wolves.

Eltham got off to a perfect start getting out Donovan Pell for just one. 

The wickets would continue to flow, with Eltham bowling the Wolves out for just 66.

Lower Eltham will face North Eltham Wanderers in the other semi final after beating Bundoora Park and Bundoora respectively.

Lower Eltham came out on top in a thriller, winning by one run.

After being sent in, Lower Eltham made 7-164 from the 20 overs.

Bundoora Park guest player Shupinder Taggar took three wickets to be the pick of the bowlers.

Bundoora Park put up a good fight, but fell just short, finishing 7-163.

Taggar and captain Bradley Fox both scored 43 apiece. 

It was an easier win for North Eltham Wanderers against Bundoora.

Bundoora was bowled out for 79 in the second last over, with only two players reaching double figures.

The Wanderers top order got the job done, finishing 1-80 off 12.2 overs.

The semi finals are due to be played next Tuesday.
