Lalor Stars, North Eltham Wanderers into final

Lalor Stars and North Eltham Wanderers will face off in the Northern Region T20 grand final after both sides had comprehensive wins in their semi finals.

The Stars, who are through to their second T20 grand final in three years, easily overcame Eltham at W.A Smith Reserve on Tuesday night.

The Stars decided to send Eltham in and Eltha put a decent score on the board after being in trouble early.

Ben Rowe was the star for Eltham, hitting 84 not out, as his side made 6-160.

Paul Higgins and David Worthington were the wicket takers for the Stars.

The Stars got off to a flyer in their innings, with Aaron Amos and Alex Manoilovski putting on 77 for the first wicket.

Amos was out for 50, but the Stars continued on led by Manoilovski.

They would reach the runs in the 17th over, making 2-161, with Manoilovski finishing 76 not out.

Lalor will face North Eltham Wanderers in the final, after the Wanderers beat Lower Eltham.

The Wanderers got the job done with the ball, bowling Lower Eltham out for 70.

Opener Dananjaya Fernando, who made 34, was the only one to show any resistance, with the next highest score six.

Adam Tsapatsaris and Tharindu Ranasinghe Muduyanselage took three wickets apiece.

The Wanderers had little trouble getting the runs, hitting the winning runs in the 14th over. The Wanderers finished 2-71.

Skipper Jake Lambert finished 33 not out.

The grand final is due to be played next Tuesday.
