Greenvale continued its good start to the Essendon District Football League women’s division 1 season, beating Tullamarine on Saturday.

The Jets, who entered the match on the back of two good wins, were never troubled by the Demons, who are still adjusting to life in division 1.

The Jets kicked 7.1 to nil in the first quarter to take control of the game and were able to extend the lead in every quarter, winning 18.14 (122)-1.0 (6).

Nicolette Paschalis backed up her eight goals from the week before with five goals this week.

Talia Motta and Alicia Meilak were named the Jets best.

For the Demons, Fallan Courts was their only goal scorer. She was also named her side’s best.

In the women’s premier division, Westmeadows proved no match for Keilor.

The Blues made the most of their opportunities in front of goal to take an early lead. They were able to build throughout, holding the Tigers goal less in three quarters.

The Blues won 11.1 (67)-1.3 (9).

Julia Montesano was the goal kicker for the Tigers and Mikayla Plant named their best.

In the men’s competition, Greenvale suffered a big loss to Pascoe Vale, 17.14 (116)-9.15 (69).

The Panthers were able to build throughout the match, winning 17.14 (116)-9.15 (69).

Cameron Tudor kicked four goals for the Jets, while Liam Podhajski was named their best.

In division 1, Tullamarine racked up another win, beating Glenroy.

The Demons did most of the damage in the second quarter, kicking nine goals to nil to open up an 11 goal lead.

The Lions won the second half, but it mattered little with Tullamarine winning 18.14 (122)-8.11 (59).

Dominic Micallef kicked nine goals for the Demons in a best on ground performance.

Westmeadows pushed an inaccurate St Albans in their match.

The Tigers led at the first two breaks, before failing to kick a goal in the third quarter. Trailing by two goals at the last break, the Tigers were still in the match.

The Saints kept peppering the goals in the last quarter and despite not making the most of their chances were able to run away with a 9/20 (74)-8.4 (52).

Shaun Knott was the only multiple goal kicker for the Tigers with two goals.

Jordan Kosteas was the Tigers best.
