Jaguars knocked out

Jacana’s Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 campaign is over after a thrilling loss to West Coburg on Tuesday night.

The final eight teams were in action, with spots in the semi finals on the line.

West Coburg was too strong for division 5 side, Jacana

Jacana was bowled out for 100 with three balls remaining. Thanura Gunasekera top scored with 27 at the top of the order.

West Coburg was made to work hard for the win, but hit the winning runs with eight balls remaining.

West Coburg finished 3-101. Brodie Fitzpatrick took two wickets for the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Sunshine won the toss and decided to bat against the Druids, making 6-108 from its overs. Nathan Johnson was the pick of the bowlers for the Wizards, taking 3-23 off his four overs.

The match went down to the wire, with the Wizards able to get home with four balls remaining.

The Wizards finished 9-110.

Buddika Hasaranga, who is coming off a 100, was the star with 65 for the Wizards.

Yarraville Club’s finals hopes ended after losing to fellow senior division side Haig Fawkner.

Clubbers made 6-113 from their overs with Trent Lawford top scoring with 36 off 22 balls.

Haig had no trouble chasing down the runs, finishing 4-115 from 14.1 overs.

Viraj Lakshitha top scored with 59

It was single wicket takers for the Clubbers.

Maribyrnong Park St Marys ended the run of the Werribee Centrals.

Maribyrnong Park St Marys made 5-155 from its overs with Shasheen Fernando top scored with 39.

Moiz Ahmed took two wickets for the Centrals

Centrals were bowled out for 84. Centrals lost 6-13 to end their innings.

Shaun Jennings top scored with 20.

West Coburg was set to play Maribyrnong Park St Marys and Haig Fawkner was set to play the Druids on Sunday, after deadline, for a spot in the grand final, which is the following Sunday.
