Hume United headed in right direction

Hume United’s Gennaro Piraino took on Sporting Whittlesea’s Vincent Schiafone in front of goal to help Hume United’s resurgence in FFV state league 2 north-west at the weekend.

Ninth-placed United managed to hold second-placed Sporting Whittlesea to a 1-1 draw.

In state league 3 north-west, Lalor United and Whittlesea United drew 2-2, while Upfield beat North City Wolves 4-3.

In state league north, Bundoora United beat Plenty Valley Lions 3-2, Meadow Park and Greenvale United drew 1-1 and Fawkner won 1-0 against Epping City.
